Jax Jones & Emei Team Up for New Song “Stereo”
British DJ Jax Jones teamed up with Los Angeles-based Chinese-American alt-pop singer-songwriter Emei to release a new song “Stereo” on July 11, 2025.
This marks the first time Jax Jones and Emei have worked together.
For Jax Jones, the song follows “Bad Boys” with Rebecca Black and sooyeon, and “Back In My Bed” with MEYY, from his new project “Y2J!”.
Meanwhile, for Emei, the song is her first collaborative single of 2025 and follows “Crazy Stupid Love”, which was released back in February.
The track was written by Alex Chapman, Alna Hofmeyr, Joe Kearns, Neil Ormandy, and Timucin LamZhone. Produced by Jax Jones, Zhone, Alt8, and Joe Kearns.
The pair first performed the song at The Shard (observatory) in London on July 10, 2025, setting a world record for the Highest Single Release.- Jax Jones said, “Come with us to the top of The Shard, it was a wild day, they told me only three things have ever been filmed up there: Dynamo when they opened, Superman a couple of weeks ago, and Jax Jones big up Emei for making the commute from LA, the fans for coming through, and the team at The View from The Shard for making the Stereo release night so special.”
Emei said of the song, “I've always been such a fan of Jax! So, when I heard Stereo for the first time I was so excited to be a part of such a banger of a song. The track feels nostalgic and timeless and I've been jamming out to this one for months now and I can't wait to finally show everyone what we made together.” -
This year, Jax Jones began his new project called “Y2J!”. He explained that “I've not been feeling inspired as an artist and a fan of music. For me what's important is exploration.” And he describes the Y2J! musical direction as “Techno, but a bit more Polly Pocket.” - source : Apple Music
