GRACEY Releases New EP “Ladybug”
British singer-songwriter GRACEY released her third EP “Ladybug” on July 10, 2025 via Glassnote Records.
The EP is her first project in four years since the 2021 EP “Fragile”. Also it is the first release under her new label Glassnote Records.
She wrote the songs of the EP in Los Angeles. The EP comprises 5 tracks, produced by GRACEY, Afterhrs, Lindgren, Magnus Lidehäll, Jacob Olofsson, Phil Scully, and Eli Teplin.
She describes the EP as being inspired by “the yellow car theory”, a cognitive phenomenon where, once you begin focusing on something, you start seeing it everywhere.
For GRACEY, the ladybug has become a quiet symbol of luck and intuition, and the EP represents a search and a guide.
GRACEY said of the EP, “Each EP I've released has felt like a little time capsule of a different era in my 20s - and Ladybug, in particular, feels like a journey of growth, clarity and finally embracing healthy love. From song concepts on my notes page to playing around in the studio to bringing each of these music video to life, every step has been special. I've definitely learned a lot over my career of what to do and not to do, and so throughout this process I've made sure to be completely protective and trusting of my creative vision, and i must say it feels fcking amazing to get to share this collection of songs with you finally, exactly as i wanted them to be.”- She continued, “Both the title and lyrical themes of this EP were inspired by 'the yellow car theory' - the idea that when you start actively looking for something, you start seeing it everywhere. For me, ladybugs became a quiet emblem of hope and self-trust - little red signs that always seemed to show up when I needed them most, as if to say what you're looking for might already be right in front of you. This EP to me is both a search and a guide: if you're looking for love, meaning, or clarity, I hope Ladybug can help you to start spotting it.”
She told LUNA about the EP, “The thing that I'm most excited about Ladybug is that all of the songs have come from love. They've really been so much fun to make and create. I've been so inspired. Just having the opportunity to build the Ladybug world has been super amazing, not just in the music front as well, like in terms of the music videos and stuff like being on, I've previously been on big labels, and I'm currently with an indie label. The biggest shift is the budget is so much smaller naturally. I think the thing that I'm super excited and proud about is that I was able to work within those limitations of money and try to find creative, fun ways with my friends and creative partners to build the world I wanted through just a lower budget.” -
GRACEY explained track-by-track for the EP.
“Delirium”
“'Delirium' felt like the perfect song to return with as it captures the biggest change in my life since I last released music: falling in love. The chorus of my last single was broken-hearted over the impossible, that 'now I've got to go and fall in love again' feeling – but it happened! Delirium is a celebration of those long mornings with a new partner, creating inside jokes and falling deeper in love. It's about feeling safe to be your most free, unfiltered, childlike self and how euphoric that feels.”
“Gimmicks”
“This may be my favourite GRACEY video yet and I'm so excited for you guys to finally see it. I want to give a huge shoutout and love to my songwriting collaborators and la family on this - Melanie Fontana & Lindgren you are so insanely inspiring to work wit, thank you for lending me your brains.”
“Rhetorical Questions”
“The question 'Who do you love?' felt both romantic to me but also hints to a level of uncertainty and fear which I experienced when opening myself back up again. I got involved in the song's production and wanted to continue that feeling on the track side too, which I think mostly comes with that heavy bass, giving the feeling of being hit with love and realising you're in deep.”
“Steep” via LUNA
“'Steep' came so naturally, and it was a concept that I brought in with the idea that when you're raising your standards and you keep going back to the same ex, which is something I did when I was a teenager, the only thing that can stop them running back is if you raise your standards and make it too steep for them to run. It was really fun to get to write that song and let it go, like let that air of my life go.”
“Back To Then”
“Back to Then is about the irreversible effects falling in and out of love can have on a pre-existing friendship. It was written after a night where I'd bumped into an ex at a bar after years of not speaking; I was reminded of how much we actually got on and realised I actually just missed them as a person, not even in a romantic way.
The hard reality is that we will never truly be able to go back to the friendship we had before our relationship. This song reflects how strange it feels watching someone who once meant everything to you become a stranger. I think of 'Back to Then' as the more *level-headed* sister song to my single from a few years ago, 'What a Waste'.” - source : Apple Music
