White Lies Announces New Album “Night Light”, Shares New Song “In The Middle”
London-based indie rock band White Lies, consisting of Harry McVeigh (vocals/guitar), Charles Cave (bass) and Jack Lawrence-Brown (drums), has announced their upcoming seventh studio album “Night Light” will be released on November 7, 2025.
It is their first body of work in three years since the 2022 album “As I Try Not to Fall Apart”.
The album comprises 9 tracks, which the band recorded with producer Riley MacIntyre at The Church Studios in London.
From the album, the band released a new song “In The Middle” on July 16, 2025.
The music video for the song premiered on July 24, 2025 and was directed by Andreas Nilsson.
The song is the second single off of the album, following “Nothing On Me” released back in May.
It was written by Charles Cave, Harry McVeigh, and Jack Brown. Produced by Riley Macintyre.
The band said of the song, “The lyrics to the verses for ‘In The Middle’ have been written in notebooks for nearly a decade, waiting for the right vessel, which has finally presented itself in this hypnotic and locomotive piece of music. It’s a song about moving, not necessarily moving on, but moving to another emotional place needed for growth. It also gives you another taste of our musical growth on this forthcoming album where we fully let our hair and scalps down to embrace a more experimental side of arrangement. And, by the way, it’s a saxophone, not a flute.”- The video was filmed in Bangkok. Director Andreas Nilsson also directed their music videos for “Death”, “Farewell To The Fairground” and “To Lose My Life”, which were featured on their 2009 debut album “To Lose My Life...”
The band said of the video, “It brings us great pleasure to present our new - completely wild - video for ‘In The Middle’. This video is a return to collaboration with the incomparable Andreas Nilsson who made videos on the first album campaign - for ‘Death’, ‘Farewell To The Fairground’ and ‘To Lose My Life’. Andreas has gone on to become one of the world’s most creative and in demand directors so it’s a real pleasure for us that he’s made this happen. Shot in Bangkok in 24hrs only a few weeks ago, it’s as stylish and as unsettling a music video as you are likely to see. It’s pure cinema, we love it.” -
