Only The Poets Releases New Song “Guess She's Cool”
British alt-pop band Only The Poets, consisting of Tommy Longhurst (vocals), Andy “Roo” Burge (bass), Clem Cherry (guitar) and Marcus Yates (drums), released a new song “Guess She's Cool” on August 1, 2025.
The song is the fourth single off of their upcoming debut album, following “Emotionally Hungover”, “You Hate That I'm In Love”, and “I Keep On Messing It Up”.
The debut album is expected to be released in 2026 via Capitol Records UK / Polydor Label Group Release.
The track was written by Bill Maybury, Luke Fitton, and Tom Longhurst. Produced by DanDlion, Clem Cherry, and Marcus Yates.
The accompanying music visualiser was directed by Callaway Breeze.
The band shared on social media, “We've loved this song and been sitting on it for a while waiting for the perfect time to release it, which felt like now. Go listen, share with friends, add to your playlists, but most importantly we hope you love it as much as we do.”- The band frontman Tommy Longhurst told Metal Magazine about the song in an interview, “It's just all about how you navigate yourself through a first real heartbreak and the emotional challenges that come with it, really not being able to move on and get over it. I'm sure we've all been there and can relate, and that's what we try to do with our music: pour ourselves and life experiences into these songs so that people can relate and take whatever they choose away from listening to them. It's a really vulnerable side of us, particularly lyrically, and yeah, we are just really proud of it.”

He continued, “In the process of writing all this new music, this one definitely felt unique to us and had that real alt-pop feel to it. We really wanted to treat the production carefully to power home the messaging within and make the song feel up close and personal, yet also big and bold at the same time.”
