  • Wet Leg Releases New Song “davina mccall”

  • British indie rock band Wet Leg, consisting of Rhian Teasdale (lead vocals/rhythm guitar), Hester Chambers (lead guitar), Henry Holmes (drums), Josh Mobaraki (rhythm guitar), Ellis Durand (bass), released the third single called “davina mccall” from their upcoming sophomore album “moisturizer” on June 23, 2025, following “CPR” and “catch these fists”.

The album is set to be released on July 11, 2025.
The song title is named after the host of the British version of Big Brother. The track is about pure, unadulterated devotion and is a soft, lovelorn ballad that takes a cheeky premise and coats it in a sense of earnestness.
It was written by Ellis Durand, Hester Chambers, and Rhian Teasdale. Produced by Dan Carey.
The accompanying animated music video was directed by Chris Hopewell. The clip is a fascinating stop-motion animation, featuring the band members as clay dolls cruising in search of feather-stealing goblins.

The band guitarist Hester Chambers said of the song, “Ellis and I were on the edge of our seats being like, ‘We’re gonna get this, we’re completing the puzzle’.”
  • The new album comprises 12 tracks, produced by Dan Carey. The band wrote the album while living together in Southwold, a remote seaside town in Norfolk, England.

The band lead singer Rhian Teasdale said of the album, “It was very natural that we would write the second record together. We focussed on [thinking] ‘is this going to be fun to play live?’ I thought I was straight all of my life until I met my current partner - these love songs are about them. I just found it so much more interesting and empowering to be writing love songs where I’m not lusting over a man - it feels a little bit different.”
