Forgetmyname Releases New Song “Setmefree”
Back in April, American singer-songwriter Forgetmyname returned with a comeback song “Daydream” for the first time in a year and a half.
Following the song, she released a new song “Setmefree” on June 20, 2025.
The song is a dance-driven track that blends feel-good energy with emotional depth.
It was inspired by both infatuation and emotional contradiction. It's built for movement but rooted in honesty, with lyrics that explore the tension between desire and the fear of vulnerability.
As with the previous song, the track was written by Nicole Morales and produced by longtime collaborator Grandy Zodulua.- Forgetmyname told UPCOMING100 about the songwriting process, “When writing songs, there's a relief that comes with not forcing the lyrics to come. Sometimes when looking back on songs, I realize I captured exactly how I was feeling in that moment and can understand why I felt that way at that point. And at other times, I don't understand what I wrote. But, I don't overthink it, I believe in it. The thoughts came to me at the time subconsciously and they're supposed to be there.”

She said of her comeback, “I hold my releases from 2023 very close to my heart. Now, I'm heading into a new era with my music and I'm actually a little more nervous but still excited. I'm in a space where I'm really loving the productivity of everything I'm doing. When I returned to music, I knew I wanted to return with a sense of consistency.
