Alessi Rose Releases New Song “That Could Be Me”
London-based indie pop singer-songwriter Alessi Rose released a new song “That Could Be Me” on June 20, 2025.
The song is the second single off of her upcoming third EP “Voyeur”, which is set to be released on July 25, 2025 via Capitol Records.
It was written by Alessi Rose, Boo, and Oli Fox. Produced by Josh Scarbrow and Boo.
The track explores themes of unrequited longing through an alt-rock-edged bop.
Alessi Rose said of the song, “'That Could Be Me' is about desire, particularly when that person is in love with someone else, and the tension you feel between wanting them and knowing that morally you can't do anything about it. It's the most frustrating kind of yearning, where it's angry and out of your control.”- She shared on social media, “This song is about love and yearning and anger and frustration and sex and more yearning and wanting someone when it's morally wrong and they might have a girlfriend & you don't need to do anything about it but it just sits in your stomach like a sickness !!!!!!!! I think it's fun to want but it also drives u a bit crazy & that's what this song is about. I love this song & have loved it for a very long time & im so glad it's out in its most perfect form. Sing it scream it do whatever u want to it I don't judge !!!!!!!! THAT COULR BE ME BABY !!!!”

The new EP comprises 8 tracks, produced by John Hill, Sammy Witte, Boo, Josh Scarbrow and Sam de Jong.
Alessi Rose said of the EP, “In my EP ‘Voyeur’, the voyeurism is twofold. The audience becomes a voyeur of my innermost thoughts and feelings through the music, but additionally I am a voyeur of myself and my own, sometimes self-sabotaging, decisions. I wanted this EP to feel like the unfiltered version of events that you tell your closest friends and I feel like the bluntness and stream of consciousness lyrics reflect that. I don’t care how I’m perceived because I trust the listener.” - source : Apple Music
