The Drive. Returns With New Song “shelley.”
Cork-based rock band The Drive., consisting of Eoin Murphy (vocals/guitar), Aaron Kenny (guitar), Alex Galligan (drums), Matthew O' Reilly (bass), returned with a new song “shelley.” On June 20, 2025.
The song is their first music in a year since the 2024 single “living is easy.”.
It was written by Eoin Murphy, Alex Redmond Galligan, Aaron Kenny, and Matthew O' Reilly. Produced by The Drive.
The track explores the mental spiral of retroactive jealousy and romantic dread.
The band said of the song, “We wanted the song to feel overwhelming. We leaned into a more cinematic approach, but it’s all rooted in something real. Something raw.”- The band lead singer Eoin Murphy continued, “shelley. explores anxiety, fear and retroactive jealousy in a relationship — and the mental turmoil that comes with those feelings. I struggled for a long time with how to communicate that until a rewatch of Sin City sparked something. Clive Owen’s character and the love triangle dynamic became the catalyst for the lyrics.”
