  • Joy Orbison & Overmono Premiere New Song “Lippy” featuring Skiifall on BBC Radio 1

  • London-based producer Peter O'Grady, aka Joy Orbison and electronic music duo Overmono teamed up again to premiere a new song “Lippy” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.

This marks their first collaboration in two years since the 2023 corroborative song “Freedom 2” with Kwengface.
Also, they made two songs “Bromley” and “Still Moving” in 2019.
This time, they recruited Canadian rapper Skiifall on the track.
The track was written by Ed Russell, Tom Russell, Peter O'Grady, and Shemar Mckie. Produced by Joy Orbison and Overmono.

Overmono told Jack Saunders about the song, “I reckon it'd be that the track started by us and Pete Orbiso sat in the studio, both with laptops running. And he had something running that he was working on. We had something run that we were working on. And they both came out as speakers at the same time, and they were both perfectly in key. And we're like, 'Oh, there's the tune.'”
  • They continued, “We had like, the, sort of the piano chords and the beat, and we're like, there's something really in this. And then Pete had a very long flight back from Australia. And I think he sent it us, there's Wi-Fi on the plane there, and you sent us these like, 'lads, would you reckon with this?' And he'd been working with Skiifall, and he put this Skiifall vocal on that he had. And we were just like, 'Oh, yeah, that's it.' And then we did a session with Skiifall, and we got some more bits, and it came together just really quickly.”

  • They said of Skiifall, “I think he's like, he's so versatile. It's unbelievable. Like, even just on this tune, there's like, three versions of Skiifall in there. I almost think, like when he lists like, old Kate Bush records, and it's like, there's Kate Bush and then there's like, the kind of crazy Kate Bush that comes in on top. I feel like Skiifall has got a similar vibe. He's so versatile, and he's got such a calm presence. He walked into the studio, and he's just like, this quite calm guy. And as soon as the mic comes on, he's just like, 'Oh, mad.' He's unreal. He's gonna blow up.”
