Yunger Releases Two New Songs “Alive” & “Sinner”
Sacramento-based post-hardcore band Yunger, consisting of Jay Malcuit (vocals), Dylan Todt (guitar), Jeremy Larsen (guitar), Ryan Muok (drums) and Jon Sarris (bass), released two new songs “Alive” and “Sinner” on July 11, 2025.
The two songs are featured on the 7-inch vinyl “Alive”, a two-song single released via Negative Progression Records.
Both songs were written by Dylan Todt, Jay Malcuit, Jeremy Larsen, Jon Sarris, and Ryan Muok. Produced by Yunger.
On “Alive”, the band blends haunting atmosphere with blistering catharsis, drawing on elements of post-hardcore, emo, shoegaze, and dark pop.
Meanwhile, “Sinner” unfolds around the wreckage of a relationship gone cold, wrapped in thick atmosphere and a melodic weight that never slips into excess.- The band frontman Jay Malcuit said of “Alive”, “Alive explores the emotional weight of being someone's savior while they spiral through inner turmoil. It reflects the heartbreak of watching someone self-destruct, all while relying on you to keep them afloat.”
He continued speaking of “Sinner”, “'Sinner' is a raw, emotionally charged track about the fallout of a toxic relationship and the painful clarity that comes with betrayal. It captures the inner conflict of loving someone who can't love you back.” -
