  • Softcult Releases New Song “Naive”

  • Canadian alt-rock duo Softcult, consisting of twin siblings Phoenix Arn-Horn and Mercedes Arn-Horn, released a new song “Naive” on July 9, 2025.

The song is the follow-up to “Pill To Swallow”, which was released back in April.
Both songs will appear on their upcoming debut album, which is expected to be released in 2025.
The song is accompanied by the Mercedes Arn-Horn-directed music video.
It was written by Mercedes Arn-Horn, and Phoenix Arn-Horn, who also produced the track.

The duo said of the song, “It's about coming to the painful realization that the person, idea, or reality we trusted and believed in never really existed in the first place. This song is about the moment the scales fall from our eyes after we realize we've been romanticising someone or the idea of someone. After this moment we're no longer able to see them or the world as innocently as we did before.”
  • The duo embarks on North American, UK and Europe tour this fall. The tour kicks off at Buffalo Iron Works in Buffalo on September 19 and will conclude at The Dome in London on December 2, 2025.

The duo said, “We're excited to finally play some new songs from our upcoming record, especially at a time where the need for community, equality, and solidarity is more important than ever. These songs are some of our favourites that we've ever written, speaking on issues that are very important to us, and we can't wait to share them with you all.”
