Benson Boone Releases New Album “American Heart”
American singer-songwriter Benson Boone released his sophomore album “American Heart” on June 20, 2025 via Night Street and Warner Records.
It is his first album in a year since the 2024 debut album “Fireworks & Rollerblades”.
The album comprises 10 tracks, produced by Jason Evigan, Malay, and Evan Blair. He made the album with Jason Evigan over the course of 17 days.
The record features Jason Evigan on programming, Malay on bass, McKenzie Smith on drums, PJ Cartwright on strings, Rob Moose on strings, Evan Blair on guitar and drums, Jack LaFrantz on background vocals, and Jason Suwito on background vocals.
He has released three pre-release singles “Sorry I'm Here for Someone Else”, “Mystical Magical”, and “Momma Song” from the album.
Benson Boone said of the album, “Just wanna say how much I love doing music. And even more so, how much I love being able to share that music with you. People will ask me quite frequently 'do you ever think of how many lives you're changing?' but the truth is, it is YOU who is changing MY life. Thank you for being you. Whether you hate my music or love it, I'm just glad you heard it. I hope you all enjoy American Heart, so many talented people were a part of this album, go listen all the way through if you can.”- He told Rolling Stone about the album, “It's not political at all. It's more of a personal thing. It's just me. American Heart is my heart, and it's not my heart because it's American. It's my heart because I'm Benson Boone. I think I'm getting to the point where I just want people to know that there's more than just that song (his smash hit 'Beautiful Things'). I think I'm a little past that point. But of course I still love the song. I'm still proud of it. And I'll be performing it for a while, so I hope that feeling sticks around. A lot of it is very Bruce Springsteen, Americana, like a little more of a retro vibe. It all started with me believing in the song 'Beautiful Things.'”

“Sorry I'm Here For Someone Else” via Apple Music
“Honestly, the day that we wrote this song, I was having a pretty weird day. I was in in my head a little bit and emotional and I just walked in and I wrote it with Jack LaFrantz and the producer Jason Evan and I was just kind of talking him through my mood and I was feeling weird and I didn't want to bring that into the studio, like I didn't want to just have a day where we're all just kind of silking and sad and so I was like 'Let's make something out of it,' and when we when I first started writing that chorus like, 'I'm sorry I'm here for someone else,' on the piano it was really soft and slow, it was very slow down. Jason, he's got like a bunch of synths and piano and keyboards everywhere and he's like, 'Dude, this is going to be a sad day,' and I remember he said that and after that I was like, 'No, no, no, no,' and I walked over to a synth and I started playing it on the synth and I did it double time and Jack was like, 'Okay, that's sick, try singing it over that,' and we sung it over that a couple times and then we just moved on to the verse and like just started riffing. Writing everything on a piano definitely takes things a little slower and softer and sadder and it ended up being a really fun day at the end of it where we were all just like throwing in ad-libs and messing around and just throwing lyrics at the wall and enjoying ourselves. It just really turned the day around, so for me like that that song definitely kind of did a little 180 and turned into something that, in my opinion, is really like fun energy and a good vibe.”

“It's my favorite one, my favorite one. This one's a really important one 'cause it's about my dad, my dad is Mr. Electric Blue and I think I'm very fortunate to have extremely supportive and wonderful parents who just love what I do and they love me and my sisters and they've always been great to us and I know that's something a lot of people don't have and a lot of people don't get the opportunity to have in their life but for anyone that would wanna relate to this song, it's more just about anyone who's had a really big influence on inspiring you and having you become who you are because my dad, growing up, was my ultimate superhero. I for sure just wanted to do everything like he did and I still look at him that way, obviously, I'm just more grown up now so I see him for the real human being that he is but he's exceptional. He's such a good dude and has taught me so many great things so this song's more like I'm just kind of in awe of what he is and what he has stood for and how he treats my mom and he treats my sisters and how he treats me. It's not a song that's gonna make you cry, it's not a song that's gonna put you in your feels, it's just like a cool, fun song of me just appreciating someone that I really love. I think it honors him in a way that's really fun and I think that's a big part of his personality, so it works.”
“Momma Song”
“There's a song on the album, it is called 'The Momma Song'. This is like the 'In The Stars' of this next album. This is the one that, if you are having a rough one, having a tough one, you go in your car and you listen to this one.
I know that not everybody is lucky enough to, one, have their parents around, but, two, have parents that support them in what they do. It is becoming less and less common these days. I would like to say, my mother and my father are absolutely the reason I'm here today. They are the best people in the world; I love them to death. This song is about my parents. So, if you have anyone, whether it's your mom and dad, aunt and uncle, someone that raised you, anyone that you look up to, this song is for them.”
“I Wanna Be The One You Call” via Rolling Stone
“It was so quickly just one of my favorite songs I've ever made. I was so shocked. And it came out of nowhere, because the song before was truly, like, so bad. I think it was the first one we made for the album. So that kind of kicked it off. I got really motivated to make more songs after that, that were of that level to me.”
“Young American Heart” via The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
“There's one song on the album called 'Young American Heart,' and to me, that's the inspiration track of the whole album, and it's about me and my best friend. I grew up with this guy—, so, I have four sisters, this dude Eric, he's got five sisters, and we met like when I was 6 months old, he's like the first dude I literally remember and we didn't have any brothers, but we just had each other, but when we were younger, we got in a car accident, and it wasn't a typical car accident. We were driving in a field. Um, we were driving in his backyard, and we flipped the car and in that moment, I was young, I was maybe like 15 or 16, and when you're 15 or 16, you're never like, 'Oh, wow, it would really suck to die right now,' because you don't even think about death, you're like 15 or 16, and in that moment, it was the first time in my life that I was like, 'Oh, my gosh, like, this dude, my best friend, he means everything to me. I don't want to die right now, a young American,' so it's not meant to be some patriotic, like, 'This is who I voted for,' it's me as Benson Boone, the little kid that grew up with a dream to just continue doing things that I love with the people that I love. And it kind of sets the tone for the album, in my opinion.” - source : Apple Music
