Tally Spear Releases New Song “Pretty”
London-based pop-rock singer-songwriter Tally Spear released her brand new single called “Pretty” on July 11, 2025.
The song was inspired by British illustrator and writer Florence Given's 2021 book “Women Don't Owe You Pretty”.
Tally Spear co-wrote the song with producer Harry Winks last summer.
The song is the follow-up to “Strangers”, which was released back in May.
The accompanying music video was directed by Kassandra Powel.
Tally Spear said of the song, “Books and films will always be an inspiration to me and my songwriting. I wrote 'Sliding Doors' inspired by concepts from the movie with the same name. And the spirit of my new single 'Pretty' came from the inspiration I felt from the pages of Florence Given's 'Women Don't Owe You Pretty'. I was compelled to write a song with the same energy. Harry Winks played me the opening guitar riff in the studio and it all fell into place. Dark & light. 'You don't need to be pretty like her. You can be pretty like you. First things first, flaws aren't really there. Flaws are man-made. And yes, I mean man-made.'”- She added, “This song is for every one of us that has ever felt like we’re not quite enough. This song is the one my dad said he thought should be the second single I put out in 2025, following 'Strangers.' He loved it and thought it was one of my best.”
