Los Angeles-based Afro-Dominican singer-songwriter and actress michelle núñez released her debut song “making the most of it” on June 20, 2025.
The track explores the fragile act of holding steady amid the wreckage of a past life now preserved only in memory.
It is presented as an honest dialogue with herself, featuring a captivating voice and an ethereal tonal soundscape with catchy drum beats and soft acoustic instrumentals.
She co-wrote the song with producer Yoosuf Blake.
michelle núñez said of the song, “This track came out of wrestling with absence. The way someone can still haunt a space, a memory, a version of yourself you can’t get back. It’s about standing in the ruins of something you loved, admitting your role in the unraveling, and still choosing to believe there’s meaning in the mess.”
She continued, “It’s fragile, but bold, part ballad, part internal monologue, like a whisper to the past that never quite left you. All of my music is a sort of love letter to life and my late baby sister.”- michelle núñez works spans film, television, theater, music, writing, and poetry, her music blends raw vulnerability with cinematic imagery.
She is known for her emotionally grounded performances on screen and stage.
She appeared as Zane on Tyler Perry’s hit series Ruthless, and worked opposite Tony-nominated Phillipa Soo in Ryan Murphy’s Doctor Odyssey.
She has also appeared in the films God’s Waiting Room, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, and Nerve for Monster Energy TV starring Olympic silver medalist Colby Stevenson, and recently recurred on ABC’s The Rookie: Feds opposite Emmy-winner Niecy Nash. - source : Apple Music
