Circa Waves Announces New Album “Death & Love”, Shares New Song “Cherry Bomb”
Liverpool-based alt-rock band Circa Waves, consisting of Kieran Shudall (vocals/guitar), Sam Rourke (bass), Colin Jones (drums) and Joe Falconer (lead guitar), has announced their two-part album “Death & Love” will be released on October 24, 2025 via Lower Third/[PIAS].
The full-length album consists of “Death & Love, Pt. 1” and “Death & Love, Pt. 2”, with a total of 18 tracks.
The album was produced by Kieran Shudall and recorded between a friend's studio in Finsbury Park and the iconic RAK studios in London.
From the album, the band released a new song “Cherry Bomb” on July 8, 2025.
The song is accompanied by a music video, which was directed by the band guitarist Joe Falconer.
It was written and produced by Kieran Shudall.
Kieran Shudall said of the song, “It's all about that person who would do anything for you. Jump into a fight for you, take you for a beer when you're down, the person who keeps you level and someone who is generally a bit of a badass. We all need a cherry bomb in our life.”- The first part of the album, “Death & Love, Pt. 1” was released back in January. It was all about starting from scratch and starting over after his lowest point with his brush with mortality.
In 2023, the band frontman Kieran Shudall underwent emergency surgery for a major arterial blockage. After the surgery, he wrote many songs inspired by the experience.
Kieran Shudall said, “There was a release of creativity. There were more songs than I'd ever written before, in one furious writing period.”
The second part “Death & Love, Pt. 2” explores a sense of rebirth. He said, “This album feels like the more optimistic part of the two records. It almost feels like if the first record was before the operation and death and fear of dying, then one is coming through the other side. It's about love, life, survival and euphoria.” -
