AFI Announces New Album “Silver Bleeds the Black Sun...”, Shares New Song “Behind The Clock”
American rock band AFI, consisting of Davey Havok (vocals), Adam Carson (drums), Hunter Burgan (bass) and Jade Puget (guitar), has announced their upcoming 12th studio album “Silver Bleeds the Black Sun...” will be released on October 3, 2025 via Run For Cover Records.
The album is their first LP in four years since the 2021 album “Bodies”.
From the album, the band the first single “Behind The Clock” on August 5, 2025.
The song is the accompanied by the Gilbert Trejo-directed music video.
It was written by Adam Carson, Davey Havok, Hunter Burgan, and Jade Puget. Produced by Jade Puget.
The band frontman Davey Havok said of the video, “Gilbert's video has sublimated the essence of 'Behind the Clock.' His vision and expertise is inspiring. Working with him was a privilege and utter joy. He is an artist of the purest form.”- Director Gilbert Trejo said, “We wanted the video to feel like you're seeing something you shouldn't. In effect you are, because that's how Davey writes lyrics. He's expressing himself so openly, that you're let behind this curtain. It's a world that most artists don't cut to, marrow deep.”
The new album comprises 10 tracks, drawing on classic sounds and reinterpreting them through a modern lens. It is dark and otherworldly, but also grandiose and stately, biting and beautiful in equal measure. -
