  • Fitz and The Tantrums Announces New Album “Man On The Moon”, Shares Title Track

  • American indie pop band Fitz and The Tantrums, consisting of Michael Fitzpatrick (lead vocals), Noelle Scaggs (co-lead vocals), James King (saxophones), Joseph Karnes (bass), Jeremy Ruzumna (keyboards), has announced their upcoming sixth studio album “Man On The Moon” will be released on July 25, 2025 via Atlantic Records.

The album is their first body of work in three years since the 2022 album “Let Yourself Free” and comprises 14 tracks.

The band lead singer Michael Fitzpatrick said of the album, “I decided I was simply going to write for my heart and for my soul and nobody else. At this point in our career, myself and the band feel we have complete creative license. Because, c'mon, nobody knows what the rules are anymore. So I'm not going to chase some vapor in the wind. I'm going to just do what I want.”

Co-lead singer Noelle Scaggs added, “We've never wanted to be stuck in a box. We refused to do that. With this project, we're daring to be different.”
  • From the album, the band released the title track “Man On The Moon” on May 7, 2025.
The song is the second single off of the album, following “Ruin The Night” released back in March.
It was written by Stephen Ellrod, Fitz, Rasmus Soegren, and Olivia Knox, and Jonas Jeberg, who also produced the track.

Michael Fitzpatrick said of the song, “'Man On The Moon' came about organically in the early days of the writing process for the album. The feelings and ideas that I wanted to write about just kept pointing us back in the Motown/soul direction. Honestly, it kinda felt like coming home.”
