Little Simz Releases New Song “Young”
London-based rapper Little Simz released a new song “Young” on May 14, 2025.
The song is the third single off of he upcoming sixth studio album “Lotus”, following “Free” and “Flood”.
The album is set to be released on June 6, 2025 via AWAL.
It was written by Simbiatu Ajikawo, and Miles Clinton James, who also produced the track.
The accompanying music video was directed by Dave Meyers, who also directed her 2023 video for “Gorilla”.
In the clip, Little Simz played a bass-wielding granny.
Little Simz said of the video, “I was able to tap into a character. That was fun for me. It’s just a moment of light heartedness.”- The new album comprises 13 tracks, featuring guest appearances from Cashh, Lydia Kitto, Michael Kiwanuka, Miraa May, Moonchild Sanelly, Moses Sumney, Obongjayar, Sampha, Wretch 32, Yukimi and Yussef Dayes.
The album was originally scheduled to come out on May 6, 2025, but was pushed back to June 6, 2025.
Little Simz said, “That time has come and unfortunately I’m having to push my album back due to scheduling of shooting a movie that just came in. Not ideal for me or you I know, trust me I’ve tried many ways around it but just means I can’t do the film otherwise. If there was ever a time I ask for your grace and patience it is now. You can expect more music from Lotus in the meantime but the pushback date for the album in full will be June 6th 2025. I'm sorry maynnnn, I proper am.” -
