Sid Dorey Releases New EP “Middle Seat”
Nashville-based indie pop singer songwriter Sid Dorey released their sophomore EP “Middle Seat” on April 18, 2025.
This marks their first project in a year since the 2024 debut EP “Drama in Doses”.
The EP comprises 5 songs, produced by Joel Ferber, Zarni Devette, Reed Berin, and Matias Mora. Written by Sid Dorey, David Bakash, Zarni Devette, Nell Maynard, Reed Berin, Matias Mora, Cali Rodi, Grayson de Wolf, Taylor Bickett, and Taylor Dubray.
The EP builds on their signature raw storytelling and emotional honesty, offering a poignant exploration of loss, letting go, and the pursuit of belonging.
Sid Dorey said of the EP, “The middle seat can be the most uncomfortable spot in the car, but it can also be the most joyful - if you're surrounded by the right people. This EP is about finding those people, and choosing to stay. You are in control of who you're around, and you can control your future. You just have to keep your seatbelt on - because we need you to stick around.”- “Isn't This Just So Us”
“I wrote this song with Zarni Devette and David Bakash. I ran into an ex at a Taylor Swift concert, and that really tapped into my insecurities, and so this song happened! I'm so pumped that it's finally out of my demo folder and into the world!” -
“Cannibal”
“I wrote this song because I was getting a lot of hate comments and I was like, why do you hare me? You don't even know me.
This song means a lot to me and I don't even know how to tell you all about it. It would actually mean so much to me if you listened to this one, because it feels really relevant right now.
This song started literally from Instagram. I was getting hate comments left and right about a video that I posted where I was talking about being nonbinary while living in Tennessee. I set up a write with my fav group of people Nell Maynard, James Droll, Reed Berin for a gay ole time of writing about it. James came up with the idea of cannibalism and the ball just kept rolling.
I don't understand how some people can hate a group of people for being different than them, so this song explores that.”
“Unlovable”
“I wrote the perfect song to dramatically sing out your window.”
