Green Day Releases New Song “Ballyhoo”
American rock band Green Day, consisting of Billie Joe Armstrong (lead vocals/guitars), Mike Dirnt (bass) and Tré Cool (drums), released a new song “Ballyhoo” on May 2, 2025, after the band was celebrated with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The song is taken from their upcoming deluxe edition of the fourteenth studio album “Saviors” called “Saviors (édition de luxe)”, which is set to be released on May 23, 2025.
It was written by Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tre Cool. Produced by Green Day and Rob Cavallo.
The deluxe edition comprises 22 songs, including the original 15 songs, 5 new song and 2 acoustic renditions of “Suzie Chapstick” and “Father to a Son”.
The band said, “Massive thanks to everyone who came out to watch us get our on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame yesterday. We're keeping the celebrations going - 'Ballyhoo' a new one from Saviors (édition de luxe) is out now!!”- Before the release of the song, the band was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The band frontman Billie Joe Armstrong said at a celebration, “This is crazy, kind of like being at your own funeral. This is for my mom. This is like my mom's Super Bowl right now.”
He told Variety, “Now we’re in a time where us kids are getting our day. As people walk and have those dreams and look down at the stars, we can look down and say, ‘Hey, I’m stepping on my face right now!’ Pretty cool.” -
