Superstar Crush Returns With New Song “Fire Escape”
Canadian baroque-pop band Superstar Crush, consisting of Marzieh Darling (vocals), Sam Hansell (guitar/vocals), Chloe Butler-Stubbs (bass/vocals), and Truaxe Fox (drums/vocals), returned with a new song “Fire Escape” on May 27, 2025.
The song is their first music in a year since the 2024 EP “Crushed to Meet You” and will appear on their upcoming debut album, which is set to be released this summer.
The track was written in another friend's vocal range as a songwriting experiment and features a haunting violin arrangement by Helen Faucher.
Lyrically, the song drips with disheveled longing and literary references, from RAW Magazine comic covers to Japanese and French romance films.
It was written by Chloe Marilyn Butler-Stubbs, Marzieh Darling, Sam Waisum Hansell, and Truaxe Sly Fox. Produced by Tyler Kyte.- The band drummer Truaxe Fox said of the song, “There isn't always a Hollywood exit - sometimes the fire escape is just stairs and smoke. This song's about stumbling down them with style.”
The band said of making the track, “We all had to sing it together just to hit the notes. It was like déjà vu. We just hoped it worked, and it did.” - source : Apple Music
