Gabriella Zauna Releases New Song “PINUP”
Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Gabriella Zauna released the second single of 2025 called “PINUP” on May 30, 2025, following “APOCALYPTIC LOVE”.
The song captures the nuances of a world that tries to mold us all to be the same, while in reality, we each have our own destinies.
She dives into all-too-relatable themes everyone experiences, especially women, in terms of needing to fit a certain image.
It was written and produced by Gabriella Zauna.
Gabriella Zauna said of the song, “This track explores emotions of self-loathing and deprecating thoughts regarding life experiences, appearance/physique, and falling victim to the societal time clock. For women in particular, this song dives into the societal pressures that we feel and the thoughts of self-contempt and comparison in regard to our bodies, as well as criticizing aspects of ourselves, thinking that it will solve the problem.”- She continued, “We have this preconceived notion of when our careers are supposed to take off, when certain landmarks in life are supposed to happen and when they don't, you beat yourself up naturally.”
She added, “This song is a reminder to myself to toughen up when you think you have it worse than everyone else - to push forward, work harder, and stay invincible no matter how hard you may want to give up. Wallowing about what you haven't accomplished yet in life will push you back, getting up and making yourself who you've always wanted to be will push you forward.” -
Gabriella Zauna shared on social media, “This was the first full song I produced in my new studio and it felt so fresh and inspiring. I came up with the concept because as I started settling into my new place, I noticed I was feeling really incompetent and like i put out music for it to mean nothing or go no where. Then I realized what a blessing of a problem that is to have. There's a lyric in the song where I talk about a 'woman on the floor has it worse' and it's my truth. This song is about perspective and kinda pokes fun at my wallowing in self contempt and how my problems are most people's wishes. In reality we all go through shit and i'm not special.”
She continued, “We are human with human emotion and experience. We forget that we can do little things like putting makeup on to make ourselves feel better. We've all been at a place where we feel sorry for ourselves and wanting to stay complacent with life. But for me I've always wanted more out of it, which takes hard work and patience. The career that choose to pursue isn't easy and this is a playful song about just that, that my life could be much worse. It's important to acknowledge what makes us feel good and doing those things when you're in a rut. For me that's putting on makeup and lookin BADDDD!!!”
She Added, “To anyone that feels like life is kicking you, don't let this song invalidate you but rather motivate you. We all have shit, some worse than others but we are human and meant to thrive.” - source : Apple Music
