Alan Sparhawk Releases New Song “Not Broken”
American singer-songwriter and former Low's member Alan Sparhawk will release his sophomore solo album “With Trampled by Turtles” on May 30, 2025.
On the album, he teamed up with American bluegrass-influenced folk band Trampled by Turtles.
From the album, he released a new song “Not Broken” on May 12, 2025.
The song is the second single off of the album, following “Stranger” released back in March.
The track features guest vocals from Sparhawk's daughter, Hollis.
It was written and produced by Alan Sparhawk. The accompanying music video was directed by Alexa Viscius.- The new album comprises 9 songs and is the follow up to the debut album “White Roses, My God”, which was released last September.
Alan Sparhawk and Trampled by Turtles recorded the album at Pachyderm Studios in Cannon Falls, Minnesota in 2023.
Both artists are from Minnesota and had planed working together for several years.
Alan Sparhawk said in a statement, “There's a certain vibe that has to do with underdog syndrome, coming from a small town. Some of it is the weird grind and slackness that being at the mercy of Mother Nature puts in you. It humbles you. When the opportunity seems right, you jump.”
The band Low was formed by Alan Sparhawk and his wife Mimi Parker in 1933. But Mimi Parker passed away in November 2022 after living with ovarian cancer for two years, leading to the end of the band’s career. -
