RAGS AND RICHES Releases New Song “Hush”
American alt-pop duo RAGS AND RICHES, consisting of Tanner Whitt (vocals/guitar) and Peyton Whitt (drums), has released a new song “Hush”.
The song is the follow-up to “Yes We Will (Mob Squad)”, which was released back in March.
Both songs will appear on their upcoming EP, which is expected to be released in 2025.
The track was written after witnessing the unraveling of a shocking situation with someone the duo was close to for years. It is a commentary on secrets, power, and the eventual truth that always finds its way to the surface.
The track was written by DeMarko Murphy, Tanner Austen Whitt, and Peyton Alan Whitt, who also produced it.
The duo said of the song, “For a long time, we trusted and looked up to him, someone who held immense power and influence within their community. But behind closed doors, it was revealed that he had been using his position to manipulate and take advantage of vulnerable women and girls. His actions, hidden for so long, finally came to light, and the consequences were devastating.”- They continued, “The lyrics are a reflection of the anger and frustration we felt watching him lie and deny his wrongdoings, even after everything came crashing down. He lost his wife and kids, but continued to claim that he did nothing wrong, refusing to take responsibility for the harm he caused. It was a surreal experience to witness someone in such a respected position completely crumble, all while hiding behind his lies.”
