Joe Jonas Releases New Album “Music For People Who Believe In Love”
American pop rock band Jonas Brothers' member and singer-songwriter Joe Jonas released his second solo album “Music For People Who Believe In Love” on May 23, 2025 via Republic Records.
Initially, the album was supposed to be released on October 18, 2024, but was pushed back to May 23 due to ensure it felt complete.
This marks the first album in 14 years since the 2011 album “Fastlife”.
Joe Jonas was inspired to make the album by driving from Los Angeles to Houston in advance of Jonas Brothers playing the Houston Rodeo in 2024.
He told Apple Music, “Driving through on that road trip, I was inspired by what I was seeing and what I was hearing.”
The album comprises 14 tracks, featuring collaborations with DOMi & JD BECK, Franklin Jonas, Louane, Luísa Sonza, Sierra Ferrell and Tiny Habits.
On the album, he worked with produces, including Alexander 23, Dan Nigro, DOMi & JD BECK, Fat Max Gsus, Hazey Eyes, Jason Evigan, Jeremy Hatcher, Kane Ritchotte, Mark Schick, Michael Coleman, Oscar Holter, Tommy English and Valley Boy.
Joe Jonas said, “Just two rooms all at once and I'm just really excited. It's the most personal music I have ever put out.”- Joe Jonas said of the album, “This album has been a long time coming, and it holds a whole lot of my heart. It's the most personal music I've ever made, full of the messy, beautiful, confusing, and hopeful parts of love and life.”
He continued, “This album is a celebration of gratitude, hope, and love. These songs reflect on my life from a bird's-eye view acknowledging the many blessings around me. When we take a moment to breathe, pause, and reflect on the positives, my hope is that we can find acceptance and ultimately peace in the present moment. It's okay to cry and mourn a loss - it's part of the process to take care of ourselves and eventually enables us to be there for the people we care about.”
He added, ”This album speaks to the experiences of being a father, being a friend to oneself and others, and the happiness I've found in doing what I love for a living. I feel incredibly fortunate to travel the world and connect with people through my music as well as having had the opportunity to work with some of the most talented musicians, songwriters, and producers on this project.” -
Joe Jonas explained about some tracks for the album.
“Work It Out”
“The truth about that lyric is it's probably the heaviest lyric of the song, because it's talking about feeling like you don't know where you belong, You're almost questioning your sanity. But I think all of us can feel overwhelmed and stressed, and even an hour or two later, you're like, I've got to handle this myself and deal with it and grow.' The view of mental health has changed a lot over time, and especially music industry. It's also so nice to talk about our feelings and not feel like you have to sugarcoat them or it's embarrassing.”
“Only Love” via SiriusXM
“I worked on a song with Alexander 23 and Justin Tranter, and this singer-songwriter Beau [Nox]. And Justin Tranter and he's phenomenal. So we were like, 'Let's get in the studio,' and I just worked on this song in mind for the guys, called 'Only Love.' And I walked away, being like, 'I don't think it's for them and I don't think it's for DNCE. I kind of feel like it's for me, but I don't know what that is. I just need to go explore.' I kept it for myself. Siblings can't share everything. It's funny, Nick was like, a different song called 'Only Love' that started this project. And then I was like, 'Look, I also want to do music on my own for a bit. No offense, but that song 'Only Love' that you really like, that you've been listening to for the past two weeks thinking it's for [the Jonas Brothers], can I have that for me?' Nick took a long pause and he was like, 'Damn. But I get it. It's all good.'”
“Heart By Heart” via Billboard
“[Heart By Heart] was actually pitched to me [by] Savan Kotecha. He wrote it with Lewis Capaldi, and I just loved the messaging behind it. I really felt connected to it, so we did some tweaks, and I recorded it last year around the summer or fall. We held onto the song for a while. It felt like the song I really wanted to be the next single of my album, so I'm positioning it in a way where it speaks to where I'm at in my life and the emotional side of where I'm at. [The song] took a few takes, but ultimately, when you connect with anything, it falls together quite quickly. For me, I thought it was pretty natural to get into the song emotionally. The bridge [took] a few takes, but honestly, the song itself happened quite fast - all the mixing and that.”
“Hey Beautiful” with Louane and Tiny Habits
“'Hey Beautiful' is about my children and being a father. You may not physically always be there; you could be down the street, you could be across the water or even in a different form or new life or [be] reincarnated. It's kind of a lullaby approach, having a conversation with stars and saying, “Do me a favor and look out for them when I can't”. - source : Apple Music
