Ax and the Hatchetmen Releases New Song “Hotel Room”
Chicago-based indie-rock band Ax and the Hatchetmen, consisting of Axel Ellis (vocals/guitar), Sal Defilippis (guitar), Hunter Olshefke (bass), Nick Deputy (drums), Phil Pistone (trumpet) and Quinn Dolan (saxophone), released a new song “Hotel Room” on May 30, 2025.
The song follows the collaborative song “Blurry Lights” with Albert Hammond Jr, which was released in April 2025.
The track captures the ache of long-distance love.
It was written by Axel Ellis, Sean Douglas, and Jake Sinclair, who also produced the track.
The band frontman Axel Ellis said of the song, “'Hotel Room' is about the hardest reality of being fortunate enough to travel for a living: always having someone to miss. It's about wishing you could call that person and lay your thoughts on the table, but what's the point if you won't be around anytime soon? It's about wanting to see the one who makes your heart jump, but not knowing when or where that might happen. It's about looking out the window at an array of different sceneries, with one constant thought stuck on your mind. It's about missing you.”- The band embarks on Summer Headline Tour. The tour kicks off at Pappy + Harriet's in Pioneertown, CA on July 23 and will conclude at House of Blues Cleveland in Cleveland, OH on August 11, 2025.
