The Haunt Releases New Song “Own Me” featuring Mod Sun
Last month, American rock band The Haunt, consisting of Anastasia Grace Haunt (vocals) and Maxamillion Haunt (guitar), announced their debut album “New Addiction” would be released on July 25, via Nettwerk.
From the album, the band unveiled a new song “Own Me” on June 13, 2025.
This time, the band teamed up with American singer-songwriter Mod Sun on the track.
The song is the ninth single off of the album.
It was written by Anastasia Grace Haunt, Kevin Gruft, Matt McAndrew, and Maxamillion Haunt. Produced by Kevin Thrasher.
The band lead singer Anastasia Grace Haunt said of the song, “‘Own Me’ is about the different struggles that come with anxiety and depression. It’s really hard to keep your pain to yourself and not let it get onto the people you love. You don’t want the people you love and care about to have to carry the burden of your sadness, but it also gets really lonely, always being stuck in your head. With depression, it always feels like if you let yourself get close to someone, sooner or later, they’ll be overwhelmed by you. For me, my anxiety and mental illness have always been something that controlled my life and have kept me scared from really living... I’ve always felt out of place, too shy and quiet and always right on the verge of freaking out.”- The debut album comprises 10 tracks, featuring guest appearances from Escape the Fate and Mod Sun, produced by Kevin Thrasher.
On the album, the band brings their darkness into the light, spinning tales of depression, dead-end relationships, anxiety, and the toils of the modern world.
Maxamillion Haunt said of the album, “We’ve always centered ourselves as a rock band but left the door open for a little push and pull. These songs are everything we set out to do: combine heavy music with soul.” - source : Apple Music
