Kiesza Releases New Song “Stays In Bed”
Canadian singer-songwriter Kiesza released her brand new single called “Stays In Bed” on June 6, 2025.
The song will appear on her upcoming album “Dancing and Crying: Vol. 2”, which is set to be released later this year.
The album is a sequel to the 2024 EP “Dancing and Crying: Vol 1”. Also, it is the first release as an independent artist.
On the track, Kiesza worked with British DJ Sammy Virji and her long time collaborator and producer Jess Cake.
Kiesza said of the song, “We all carry sides of ourselves that we rarely let the world see. People have known me for my quirkiness, my nerdiness, my carefree spirit, my retroflair, and my love of dance. But it's my sensuality that quietly fuels my creative fire. It's the pulse beneath the surface that allows me to shape-shift into a kaleidoscope of expression. Sexuality is deeply woven into the fabric of our reality, whether we choose to embrace it or not. I've never fully unleashed this part of myself, but working with Jess Cake and Sammy Virji on 'Stays in Bed' cracked something open. And once it opened, there was no going back. This song didn't just mark a moment. It set the tone for everything to come and revealed a chapter I didn't realize I was so ready to begin.”- Kiesza told CP24 about making process of the song, “This is a really cool process. Actually, the DJ Sammy Virji, who I'm a huge fan of, sent over the piano riff as an idea, and I fell in love with it. And I've always wanted to do a track where I was just whispering on the whole track and just like, super sexy. So it just felt like the right one. And I honestly practically freestyled the whole thing. I just picked up the mic. So it was written in like 10 minutes. It was so fast. And my producer, Jess Cake, who was in the studio with me. We're just like, I swear the whole thing happened kind of like 'Hideaway'. It happened in like 10 minutes. And then the production process had its own journey, but it was just very much channeled and in the moment, and right in my living room, which is really fun.”
