sophie-lou Releases Debut Song “I will love you till I die”
Copenhagen-based singer-songwriter sophie-lou released her debut song “I will love you till I die” on June 13, 2025.
The song will appear on her upcoming debut EP “its easy to be soft”, which is set to be released this fall.
The EP is a tribute to her mother, who passed away in 2019.
On the track, these influences collide in a bold, organic, and rock-infused production featuring 73 layered choral voices and a crushing wall of distorted guitars.
It was written and produced by sophie-lou, with production by Godt Gået Frej.
sophie-lou said of the song, “I had just lost one of the most important people in my life when I suddenly fell in love. Joy and a deep-rooted fear of loss became a state of being. Writing this song was both simple and necessary - a fearless declaration of love to my new partner, my friends, and my family. Words we should all say more often - before it’s too late.”- Before the release of the debut song, she changed her artist name from Sofie Emilie Maintz Thorsen to sophie-lou, which is the name of one of her mother’s songs.
She shared on social media, “I’ve decided to change my artist name to sophie-lou. It’s the name of one of my mother’s songs, she passed in 2019. My upcoming EP, its easy to be soft, is also a tribute to her. It will be out this autumn 2025. I made it one year ago, and emotionally, I’m at another stage in life, but I will look forward to having it out there as really good memories for you all to hear. It’s made with a lot of friends, and I learned a lot about my own songwriting and how important collaboration is for me, especially in this industry.” -
She added, “'I will love you till I die' is the first single from my upcoming EP. It was one of the first songs I ever wrote, and I am so happy to finally share it (but also terrified). I’ve been so lucky to collaborate with a lot of amazing people, thank you so so much I would be lost without you.”
