Jake Cornell Releases New Song “If You Have To Lie”
American singer-songwriter Jake Cornell released a new song “If You Have To Lie” on June 13, 2025.
The song is the follow-up to “Innocent”, which was released back in March.
As with the previous song it was written by Jake Cornell, Sam DeRosa, and Jordan Sherman, who also produced the track.
The track captures his nervousness about a new relationship, shaped by bitter experiences from his past.
“This is a song about being nervous in a new relationship,” Jake Cornell said of the song. “I'm in something great that feels right in the moment, but I just constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop. After having almost every ex in my life cheat on me, I wrote this from a place of not wanting that to happen again. Don't lie to me—lie with me.
