The Wild Things Releases New Song “Knock Down, Drag Out”
London-based pop-rock band The Wild Things, consisting of Sydney Rae White (vocals), Rob Kendrick (guitar), Pete Wheeler (drums), and Cameron White (bass), released a new song “Knock Down, Drag Out” on June 19 2025.
It is the first single since their sophomore album “Afterglow”, which was released last September.
The song tells the story of a fiery love affair in New Orleans, using the phrase “knock down, drag out” as a metaphor for intense sex, and pairing cheeky lyrics with entrancing pop-rock instrumentals.
The story consists of two singles. The band will release the follow-up “I Can't Wait” later this summer, revealing how the story ends. The two songs bookend the story, with the idea that the time between the song releases is the entire length of the relationship and it breaks down in real time.
The track was written by Pete Wheeler, Rob Kendrick, Sydney White, and Cameron White, who also produced it.
The accompanying music video was directed by the band guitarist Rob Kendrick and Marcus Maschwitz.- The band said of the song, “Telling the story of a fiery love affair in New Orleans, the track punches you in the mouth and grabs your ass at the same time.”
The band embarks of the UK Tour 2025. The tour kicks off at Studio 6 in Maidstone on September 11 and will conclude at Alphabet in Brighton on September 20, 2025.
