ise Returns With New Song “Remember?”
Belgian singer-songwriter ise returned with a new song “Remember?” on June 3, 2025.
The song received its first play during BBC Radio 1's Future Pop with Jodie Bryant.
It is her first music in a year since the 2024 debut song “Goodbye Letter”.
Also, the song will appear on her upcoming debut album, which is expected to be released in early 2026.
She will perform the songs from the album at Ancienne Belgique in Brussels, Belgium on February 20, 2026.
The song is about the moment a new partner enters the life of a divorced parent.
It was written by Ise Smeets and produced by Dries Henderickx.
ise said of the song, “You don't always get to choose who enters your life and who will be new 'family'. Sometimes it's nice, often it's not. You're afraid to get attached to it, but subconsciously you do. This is my personal story, but maybe other people will recognise it too, and I hope they can relate and find strength and value in it as well.- For ise, it is the third song about divorce issues, following “Goodbye Letter” and “Suitcase Child”.
She said, “They are very proud, but I don't think it's always easy for them. There were also tears when I played 'Suitcase Child'. But for me it felt like a victory, because I could finally put something on paper about that experience. You know, I've been avoiding that subject for a long time, just to not hurt my parents. But it's important to be able to talk about it. Talking about divorce is still a taboo. I'm happy if I can help break that taboo with my songs.” -
