  • Tristan Tritt Releases New Song “Wannabe”

  • American rock singer-songwriter Tristan Tritt released a new song “Wannabe” on June 13, 2025.

The song plays like both a love letter to his roots, his father Travis Tritt, who is American country music singer-songwriter and won two Grammy Awards, both for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals with “The Whiskey Ain't Workin'” in 1992, and “Same Old Train” in 1998.
The track was written by Tristan Tritt, and Brad Wagner, who also produced it.

Tristan Tritt said of the song, “I wanted to blend an honest discussion with myself about who I am and where I come from, while also sprinkling a bit of Greek mythology behind it. There is a very special place in my heart, in regards to the relationship between the Father and his Son.”
  • He continued, “The song came from an idea I had, while hearing about the parallels between the Cohen Bros. Classic O Brother, Where Art Thou? and Homer's Odyssey. I wanted to blend an honest discussion with myself about who I am and where I come from, while also sprinkling a bit of Greek mythology behind it. There is a very special place in my heart, in regards to the relationship between the Father and his Son, so Icarus came to mind.”

His father Travis Tritt said, “I'm unbelievably proud of my son Tristan Tritt for carrying on the family tradition of releasing great music with his new release 'Wannabe'!”

  • The song is the second single of 2025, following “Stop the Ride” released back in March.
For Tristan Tritt, both songs are a bold step into wider sonic territory.
He said, “For years I had fully immersed myself in Alternative rock (Specifically from the 90's), but there had always been something missing for me. I am a proud southerner and grew up listening to bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Blackberry Smoke, and now incredible, new talents, such as treaty, Oak, revival, Dexter and the Moon Rocks. I love their blend of rock and southern / Texas style, and wanted to start my 2025 journey by paying homage to the rebels of old and new.”
