salute Premieres New Song “gbesoke” featuring Peter Xan on BBC Radio 1
Manchester-based DJ salute premiered a new song “gbesoke” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.
This time, he teamed up with London-based British-Nigerian singer-songwriter Peter Xan on the track.
The song is the follow-up to Heaven In Your Arms” with British singer-songwriter Jessie Ware.
Both songs will appear on his upcoming deluxe edition of the debut album “TRUE MAGIC”, which is set to be released this summer.
The track was written by Felix Nyajo, and Peter Xan. Produced by Felix Nyajo, Andy Smith, and Sam Knowles.
salute said of the song title, “'gbesoke' is actually Yoruba, which is a Nigerian language. That roughly means 'lift it up'.”
salute told Jack Saunders about the deluxe edition, “I think with 'True Magic', that was my first sort of foray into, like collaboration on this scale. I think there were barely any tracks I didn't have at least, I won't collaborate on, which is kind of fun. In terms of what's next. I mean, I'm kind of nearly done with the deluxe version of 'True Magic', which is going to come out very soon, hopefully this summer. And after that, I want to get back to making poppy stuff. I think I've had my fun doing really sort of big poppy stuff, but I'm really excited to make some proper club music again.”- He continued, “There's still some tracks that I want to put out that I made, sort of doing the making of 'True Magic' that I couldn't finish for various reasons. Sometimes it was a case of, I'd made this track and I'd listen to the album and been like, this is not as busy album. I need some more time to sit on it and maybe touch it up in a few ways, which is kind of what happened, like one of the first tracks made for the album, but I got stuck. There was a point at which I was like, the production isn't doing the vocals justice. And it wasn't until I started touring the album, and after that tour started playing 'gbesoke' in my set, I realized what it was missing, and was able to go back to it and sort of like, finish it and get the production standing as good as possible.”
