Kacy Hill Drops New Music Video for “Please Don't Cry”
Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Kacy Hill has dropped a new music video for “Please Don't Cry” directed by Lauren Dunn and Kacy Hill.
The song was released the third single of 2025 on May 9, 2025, following “When in Rome” and “Time's Up” with 6LACK.
The track delves into the vulnerable hoping stage of a breakup, reflecting on the lingering desire to rewrite an ending and avoid the finality of loss.
It was written by Campbell James Burns, John Velasquez, and Kacy Hill. Produced by Kacy Hill and Tommy King.
Kacy Hill said of the song, “'Please Don't Cry' was written on a weird feeling October day. I was wearing boots, and after trying to find chords that would stick to no avail, I sang a goofy twangy melody with the lyrics ‘My feeeet get hot, I take my boots off every chance I got.’ We then realized I had unintentionally written a tremendous chorus melody, and the rest of the song fell out of me right after, lyrics and all.”- She shared on social media, “The past year and a half was a real doozy and I’ve got a good chunk of some of my favorite songs I’ve ever written to show for it. I’m really grateful to the people I’ve been able to make music with and every one of you that listens. Thank you.”
