  • The Ultra Violets Releases New Song “HONEYPIE”

  • Cornwall-based indie-rock band The Ultra Violets, consisting of Perran Nicholls (vocals/guitar), Marc Willoughby (guitar), Adam Knuckey (bass) and Tyler Harris (drums), released a new song “HONEYPIE” on June 6, 2025.

The track received its first play during BBC Music Introducing - The South West with Daniel Pascoe
The song is an aggressive wakeup call to the dark side and addictive nature of social media, urging people to stop turning a blind eye to the atrocities we see on our phones in favour of the superficial ‘sweet stuff’.
The track was written and produced by Perran Nicholls, with production by Marc Willoughby, as with the previous song “By The Water”, which was released back in January.

The band said of the song, “The song is essentially about people only wanting the sweet stuff in life, and sugar coating anything and everything that may be a difficult subject. We live in a society where social media is treated like the Holy Bible, simultaneously releasing dopamine hits, a highly addictive drug, when posting pictures for ‘instant gratification’.”
  • They continued, “It seems there’s a lot of wrong in the world right now, but let’s all turn a blind eye and keep posting our best lives, sugarcoating the stark contrast of the disarray. But in reality, you can hear the ‘sirens of hate before the day is dawning’ waking you as it simmers through the cracks of your windows in the morning.”
