Folk Bitch Trio Announces Debut Album “Now Would Be A Good Time”, Shares New Song “Cathode Ray”
Australian indie folk band Folk Bitch Trio, consisting of Gracie Sinclair, Jeanie Pilkington and Heide Peverelle, has announced their upcoming debut album “Now Would Be A Good Time” will be released on July 25, 2025 via Jagjaguwar.
From the album, the band released a new song “Cathode Ray” on May 13, 2025.
The song is the third single off of the album, following “The Actor” and “God's A Different Sword”.
It was written by Grace Sinclair, Heide Peverelle, and Jeanie Pilkington. Produced by Tom Healy and Folk Bitch Trio.
The accompanying music video was directed by Bridgette Winten.
Gracie Sinclair said of the song, “It expresses a feeling of being trapped in myself, and wanting to break out of that so violently that Iʼm literally talking about opening up a body viscerally. Itʼs about frustration, and knowing thereʼs no cheap thrill thatʼs going to fix that.”- The new album comprises 10 tracks, which the band recorded with producer Tom Healy in Auckland last winter.
Gracie Sinclair said, “The chemistry of being inspired by each other was evident from the get-go. We have three individual voices, but the story we tell is unified because our hearts are very melded.”
Jeanie Pilkington added, “We all talked about loving music when we were growing up, and knowing we wanted music to be a big part of our lives.” - source : Apple Music
