  • Pearl Jam Drops New Music Video for “Future Days” from New Compilation EP “The Last of Us”

  • American rock band Pearl Jam, consisting of Eddie Vedder (vocals/rhythm guitar), Jeff Ament (bass), Stone Gossard (rhythm guitar), Mike McCready (lead guitar) and Matt Cameron (drums), released a new 4-track compilation EP “The Last of Us” on May 12, 2025.

The EP is a collection of songs connected to HBO “The Last of Us” franchise.
HBO “The Last of Us” season 2 premiered on April 13, 2025, which is based on the video game “The Last of Us Part II”.
The EP features “Future Days” from their 2013 album “Lightning Bolt”, a live rendition of “Future Days”, recorded at the Ohana Festival in 2024, the studio version of “All or None”, and No Code’s “Present Tense (Redux)”.
From the EP, the band dropped a new music video for “Future Days” on May 12, 2025. The video features Paul Ribera's illustrations.
  • “Future Days” was inspired by the loss of the band lead singer Eddie Vedder’s friend Dennis Flemion, a founding member of Milwaukee alt-rock band The Frogs.
The track was written by Eddie Vedder and produced by Brendan O'Brien.
The band first performed the song during a show at Wrigley Field in Chicago in July 2013.
At that time, the band guitarist Mike McCready told Billboard about the song, “I was feeling that on that night [at Wrigley Field]. I was feeling it with the whole crowd.”
In the 2020 video game “The Last of Us Part II”, the character Joel (Pedro Pascal) plays “Future Days” for Ellie (Bella Ramsey) on guitar.
Back in 2020, Eddie Vedder performed “Future Days” at the Game Awards 2020.
