Steven Bamidele Releases New Song “Exoskeleton”
London-based singer-songwriter Steven Bamidele released a new song “Exoskeleton” on May 8, 2025.
The song is the follow-up to the collaborative song “The Fool” with New York-based producer Sly5thAve, which was released last month.
Building upon the thematic foundation laid in the previous song, the song unpacks the chaotic nature of early romance, setting the tone for a forbidden love story.
Unlike the philosophical introspection of the previous song, the track navigates how this deep affection can be all-consuming on first experience. It explores the disorienting feeling of falling for someone intoxicating.
The accompanying music video was directed by Nelson Autefault and Steven Bamidele.- Steven Bamidele said of the song, “This was my attempt at writing a ‘pop’ song without trying to overthink it and contort it into something more complex or interesting than it needs to be. Probably the most unabashedly 'pop' song I’ve written. It came about when I was revisiting a song I wrote about 13 years ago called 'All I Need Is a Boat' - and I took the chords and made something totally new. Hope you enjoy”
