Benson Boone Releases New Song “Momma Song”
American singer-songwriter Benson Boone released a new song “Momma Song” on May 22, 2025.
The song is the third single off of his upcoming sophomore album “American Heart”, following “Sorry I'm Here for Someone Else” and “Mystical Magical”.
The album is set to be released on June 20, 2025 via Night Street Records/Warner Records.
The track is a tender tribute to his mother. He sings, “I miss you / Momma don't you know / There's nothing to be sorry about / I'm so proud of all you've done / Take me down your old street / Tell me your memories of when you were young / And when you fell in love / Drive me through the country / Tell me your story / And you can play all of your favorite songs / 'Cause I'm gonna need this / When I'm holding pictures of you and that's / All that I've got left”
The track was written by Benson Boone, Jack LaFrantz, and Jason Evigan, who also produced it.
The accompanying music video was directed by Matt Eastin.- The new album comprises 10 tracks, produced by Jason Evigan, Malay, and Evan Blair. He made the album with Jason Evigan over the course of 17 days.
Benson Boone told Rolling Stone about the album, “It's not political at all. It's more of a personal thing. It's just me. American Heart is my heart, and it's not my heart because it's American. It's my heart because I'm Benson Boone. I think I'm getting to the point where I just want people to know that there's more than just that song (his smash hit 'Beautiful Things'). I think I'm a little past that point. But of course I still love the song. I'm still proud of it. And I'll be performing it for a while, so I hope that feeling sticks around. A lot of it is very Bruce Springsteen, Americana, like a little more of a retro vibe. It all started with me believing in the song 'Beautiful Things.'
