Robbie Williams Announces New Album “BRITPOP”, Shares New Song “Rocket” featuring Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi
British singer-songwriter Robbie Williams has announced his thirteenth studio album “BRITPOP” will be released this fall via Columbia Records.
It is his first album in six years since the 2019 album “The Christmas Present”.
From the album, he released the first single called “Rocket” on May 21, 2025.
This time, he teamed up with British rock band Black Sabbath's guitarist Tony Iommi on the track.
The track was written by Karl Brazil, Robbie Williams, Tom Longworth, and Tony Iommi. Produced by Karl Brazil, Tom Longworth, and Sam Miller.
He has already filmed a music video for the song, which is coming om May 23, 2025. He filmed it with Tony Iommi in Birmingham.
Robbie Williams told NME about the song, “Glenn Hughes [is on the track too]! I wanted to make the album that I'd make if I'd left Take That now, knowing what I know. This particular song ['Rocket'] encapsulates that perfectly. This [track] is massive guitars, as you can imagine. It's adrenaline-filled and balls-to-the-wall. That one in particular is my favourite song off my new album - that I've just announced is happening!”- Producer Karl Brazil added, “He's working with various people, but I've been fortunate enough to do some songs with him. We've done a track called 'Rocket' with Tony [Iommi], which is very random. It's great and a rocker and really cool”.
Robbie Williams said of the album, “I set out to create the album that I wanted to write and release after I left Take That in 1995. It was the peak of Britpop and a golden age for British Music. I've worked with some of my heroes on this album; it's raw, there are more guitars and it's an album that's even more upbeat and anthemic than usual. There's some 'Brit' in there and there's certainly some 'pop' too – I'm immensely proud of this as a body of work and I'm excited for fans to hear this album. I also can't wait to perform a song or two from it on my upcoming 'BRITPOP' tour, which I'm opening in the UK, naturally.” - source : Apple Music
