Lauren Spencer Smith Releases New Song “bridesmaid”
Canadian singer-songwriter Lauren Spencer Smith released the third single called “bridesmaid” from her upcoming sophomore album “THE ART OF BEING A MESS” on May 23, 2025, following “IF KARMA DOESN'T GET YOU (I WILL)” and “Pray”.
The album is set to be released on June 27, 2025.
The song explores how even the deepest friendships can fracture, and how painful it is to reconcile cherished memories with a present in which promises are broken.
It was written by Jake Torrey, Lauren Spencer Smith, Peter Rycroft, and Skyler Stonestreet. Produced by Lostboy.
Lauren Spencer Smith said of the song, “Your best friend and thinking they were gonna be at your wedding. How did we go from being best friends to like absolutely nothing and not talking. And I thought you were gonna be there standing behind me when I married my boyfriend. Everything's fine because I have him, but still sad and confusing. You thought you were gonna be bestfriends with your bestfriend forever...”- The new album comprise 12 tracks and captures the emotional rollercoaster her experienced while writing her second album.
Lauren Spencer Smith said of the album. “THE ART OF BEING A MESS is about embracing the highs and lows, the chaos and the beauty in feeling everything, no matter what the emotion is. Life gets messy, and it's okay to be angry, sad, confused-or even unsure of what you're feeling at all. Lauren Spencer Smith embarks on THE ART OF BEING A MESS headline tour in Europe, UK and Australia this Fall.
The tour kicks off at Sala La Riviera in Madrid, Spain on September 3, and will conclude at Astor Theatre in Perth, Australia on November 10, 2025.
