Ariana Fig Releases New Song “Weather App”
Canadian singer-songwriter Ariana Fig released a brand new song “Weather App” on May 16, 2025.
The song follows “I Said My Thanks To Jesus”, which was released back in March.
Written about the strange intimacy of checking in on someone through a weather app, the song captures the lines between self-validation and unhealthy attachment.
The track was written by during her first co-writing session with Emma Whale at the iconic Catherine North Studios back in August 2024.
Ariana Fig worked with her long time collaborator and producer Sarah MacDougall.
The track features Chris Wong on bass nad guitar, and Ariana Fig on violin.
The accompanying music video was directed by Jamie Bouwman.- Ariana Fig said of the song, “'Weather App' is rooted in that murky space between real connection and the illusions we create online. It’s not purely based on real experience, but it captures a sinister, almost desperate longing for validation. It’s about the way the internet warps our emotions and perceptions-and sometimes, we don’t even realize it’s happening.”
