Wunderhorse Premieres New Song “The Rope” on BBC Radio 1
London-based rock band Wunderhorse, consisting of Jacob Slater (vocals/guitar), Harry Fowler (guitar), Pete Woodin (bass) and Jamie Staples (drums), premiered a new song “The Rope” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.
The song is their first music since the sophomore album “Midas”, which was released last August.
The band first performed the song during thier live show at Alexandra Palace last week.
Also, the band appeared on BBC Later... with Jools Holland to perform the song.
The track was written by Jacob Slater and produced by Loren Humphrey.
The band frontman Jacob Slater said of the song, “We wanted it to sound very imperfect, very live, very raw. Like your face is pressed up against the amplifiers, like you’ve been locked inside the bass drum.”- Jacob Slater told Jack Saunders about the song, “I wanted to do something a little bit more hopeful reminders Midas was a dark place. So I wanted to do something that musically was linked to Midas but maybe it breached or whatever, we're going to do next, which hopefully is going to be a little bit brighter.”
He continued, “I think Midas was such a dark time for everyone in the band. We just, we basically wanted to look forward with a more sort of positive outlook, and maybe make some use more uplifting and create a sort of different world with it.” -
