JoJo Siwa Releases New Song “Bulletproof”
American singer-songwriter and dancer JoJo Siwa released a brand new song “Bulletproof” along with a music video on May 16, 2025.
The song is the first single of 2025 and follows “Iced Coffee”, which was released last November.
The track samples the classic French nursery rhyme “Frère Jacques”, exploring themes of strength and vulnerability.
It was written by Elijah Noll, UPSAHL, and Colin Brittain, who also produced the track.
The accompanying music video was directed and choreographed by JoJo Siwa.
JoJo Siwa said of the song, “It's my most personal song yet because it's about the journey I've been on and the challenges I've faced, and how I've come out of them stronger. This project is more than a video. It's my statement for you. I directed it. I choreographed it. WE live it.”- She continued, “'Bulletproof' is about surviving what was meant to break you—walking through fire and coming out forged, not burned. The concept, the camera angles and the dance steps in every frame are all a piece of me. Every scene was a vision I saw. Every step was choreographed to show resistance, resilience and my LOVE for dance.”
She added, “This is what it looks like when you take control of your own story and tell it with no filters, no apologies, and no limits. To everyone who’s ever felt underestimated, overlooked, or under pressure-this is for you. You’re bulletproof.” -
JoJo Siwa told US Magazine about the song, When I heard the song for the first time, I was like, “whoa, this is exactly how I feel right now.” And I'll be super honest, even more vulnerable than I've been recently. I actually showed up to the session in a U-Haul truck because I was literally in the middle of moving. I was so overwhelmed and just not in a good place. I wasn't very happy. I had a breakdown and said, “I think I need to drive away. I feel like I'm gonna throw up. I don't think I can go in right now. I can't do this song. I don't know what's happening, but I need to leave.”
She continued, “Then I took a second and thought: 'this is what the song is about.' This song is about not being bulletproof, right? So I told myself, 'You know what? We're gonna do it. It's two hours of your life. You can suck it up and go do it.' I went into the session, and it was absolutely incredible. As I was singing the song, it just felt so right. It felt so fitting - on my voice, with my tone. And when I heard it back for the first time, I was like, 'Are you sure? Are you sure that's me?' It just sounded so... I've never heard a song sound more right.” - source : Apple Music
