Jonah Kagen Teams Up with Sam Barber for New Song “Burn Me”
American singer-songwriter Jonah Kagen joined forces with American country music singer-songwriter Sam Barber to release a new song “Burn Me” on May 16, 2025.
The song is accompanied by a tour video, came together while the pair were sharing the road on sold-out tours of North America and Australia.
For Jonah Kagen, the song follows “The Reaper”, which was released back in March.
Meanwhile, for Sam Barber, the song is the second single since the 2024 debut album “Restless Mind”, following “Man of the Year”.
The track embodies the internal struggles of growing up around different faiths with contradicting values, in a society that has plenty of opinions about that.
It was written by Jonah Kagen and Sam Barber. Produced by Jonah Kagen.- Jonah Kagen said of the song, “I grew up in a religiously mixed family filled with nothing but love. Even still, there was always a weird thing none of us really talked about — that one of my parents’ religions technically condemns the other one to Hell, and the other doesn’t even believe that Hell is a thing. I wrestled with it for a long time, and ultimately came to this conclusion: I have no idea what’s wrong or right, but I do know that my parents are both angels sent from somewhere, and if they’re going down for their beliefs, I’m going down with them!”
