Griff & Sigrid Premiere New Song “Head on Fire” on BBC Radio 1
- British singer-songwriter Griff and Norwegian singer-songwriter Sigrid teamed up to release a new song “Head on Fire” along with a music video.
The song received its first play during BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
It was written by Griff, Joe Rubel and Sigrid Solbakk Raabe. Produced by Griff and Sam Tsang. The video was directed by CC Wade.
Sigrid said, "Griff and I met sharing a pizza at the Rueben Selby show at Fashion Week in London, haha. We went to the studio a while later and just had a day of talking about life, before writing 'Head On Fire'. It's about that feeling when you meet someone who just flips everything upside down and you can't focus on anything else but that person. Sarah's just lovely, and it's been so much fun working with her."
Griff added, "I've looked up to Sigrid so much, especially as a young girl who broke through making powerful, credible pop music. So I was excited to hear she wanted to write. We hung out and made 'Head On Fire', this really fun, feel-good song, and I'm excited for the world to finally hear us on a track together."
Griff told Clara Amfo, “I think it'd be a really good idea if you do with this person because you'll get loads of streams. And like this has just happened. I think that's yeah, that's what's been the nicest thing about it. It's not like some weird like industry, plant thing as far as stats or anything. Genuinely, just because like I think we really appreciate each other's music. And I think we do similar things because we're young girls and both are very different things. I don't know it's been nice to just get together as girls input and then not be any more competitive verse or anything and it's just like here to have a good time and play a fun song.”
