Aminé Premieres New Song “Charmander” on BBC Radio 1
- American rapper Aminé premiered a new song “Charmander” along with a music video on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
The song is his first single since his 2020 sophomore album “Limbo”.
It was written by Lido and Aminé. Produced by Aksel Arvid and Lido. The video was directed by Adam Daniel and Jack Begert.
“After the release of Limbo,” Aminé said in a press statement, "I took some time to experiment and challenge myself to create in ways I hadn't before — exploring different textures and tempos without any expectations. 'Charmander' was the first product of that period that felt natural while still being at a completely different BPM than any of my previous work.”
- Aminé told Clara Amfo about the song, “I don't know I feel like it's just kind of, I don't know like for me I just wanted to make something new, and from after Limbo I felt like I kind of accomplished something that I've always wanted to accomplish with like a rap album that I felt like, really did it right, and for me to go around, I just wanted to try some new sounds, new BPM and do something completely different.”
He continued, “That's exactly where I wanted to feel like so that's dope they just said that that's fine, because the main point was to just really just like have a lot of fun with this all this new like stuff that I'm doing so, I felt like I was just in the trenches when I made 'Limbo'. And for this stuff I just really like wanted to have fun, you know I'm saying like.”
