  • Dominic Fike Performs Paul McCartney's “The Kiss of Venus” on The Late Late Show with James Corden

  • American singer-songwriter Dominic Fike appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden to perform Paul McCartney's “The Kiss of Venus”.

He joined in Paul McCartney's remix album “McCartney III Imagined”, where he performed “The Kiss of Venus”.
In addition to Dominic Fike, the remix album features Beck, Khruangbin, St. Vincent, Dev Hynes, Phoebe Bridgers, Ed O'Brien, Damon Albarn, Josh Homme, Anderson .Paak, Robert Del Naja, and Idris Elba. The album was released on April 16, 2021.
Dominic Fike told James Corden about how he and his girlfriend first bonded over their shared love of Paul McCartney and The Beatles.
“On our first date, there wasn’t really much to talk about. I didn’t know her, we didn’t meet through mutual friends. I saw her in a movie and I was like, ‘Wow, she’s really hot.’ And then I messaged her and she asked me to go on a walk. And there was nothing really to talk about, so we just went through all the motions, like ‘What movies are you into,’ ‘What kind of music are you into?’ And she immediately [said], ‘Do you like The Beatles?’ I said, ‘I like Paul McCartney.’ She said that’s her favorite artist. I was always trying to do things to impress her, make music to impress her. Then when this opportunity happened, I was like, ‘Wow, she’s going to fall in love with me.'”
He revealed that Paul McCartney had talked on the phone to him about making ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’, “which was the second album I ever bought.”
James Corden asked, “What was the first?” he replied, “Blink-182‘s ‘Greatest Hits’.”
