Canadian singer-songwriter Rebecca Lappa returned with a new song “Deep Water” on April 5, 2024.
The song is her first music since the 2023 EP “Tales of A Taurus”, which was released last May.
The track is her story of a toxic relationship, using her pop sensibilities to build to a climactic chorus.
It was written by Rebecca Lappa and produced by Louise Burns.
Rebecca Lappa said of the song, “Deep Water is about my 'MeToo' experience with an abusive partner. The water is a metaphor for the feeling of drowning that comes with abuse. This story is about finding the strength and courage to escape and leave.”
She shared on social media, “This song is about my personal experience with r*pe and domestic violence, and how you can live to see the light at the end of the tunnel.”- source : Apple Music
